Firstly , a warm wishes SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI to our Muslim visitors. This year Hari Raya falls on 24th May 2020. Oh I can hear the RAYA song on TV now.<\/p>\n

Talking about RAYA food, always brings me back to nostalgia lane when I was younger. My dad had a very good Malay friend and he would always on the morning first day of HARI RAYA bring an assortment of delicacies to our home . A must have included\u00a0 \u00a0ketupat and lemang with rendang, serunding, dodol , fruit cake and other delicacies etc.\u00a0We didnt even have to visit him – those were the days when all races live in harmony with each other.<\/p>\n

As Malaysians this is the time we celebrate each others’s festival because we all also take time off to BALIK KAMPUNG or take a short excursion or maybe a long vacation to join the traffic jam as the kids are on school holidays , visit our Muslim friends and wish them well wishes , although the main reason is probably to savour some good food and delicacies.<\/p>\n

This indeed a very challenging time for everybody with lockdown, movement control order (MCO) or circuit breaker ( CB) whatever you want to call it. Therefor this year, there will be no visitation , no short excursion or\u00a0 BALIK KAMPUNG – JUST STAY AT HOME.<\/p>\n

For those who are form my generation , from 1996 to 1998 (Ooops – I revealed my era) , Hari Raya Aidilfitri<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Chinese New Year<\/b>\u00a0occurred on the same week. Originated in Malaysia, the catchphrase Kongsi\u00a0Raya. Guess when is the next one – the\u00a0next\u00a0will be between 2029 and 2031.<\/b><\/p>\n

Nonetheless, lets stay safe and healthy\u00a0 so that we can celebrate together for many more years to come. At the mean time practice social distancing and wear a mask if you have to go out, wash your hands and keep personal hygiene at all time.<\/p>\n\n\n
